Decorated eggs have always played an important role in the courtship rituals of the Easter period. Richly decorated Easter eggs symbolized life, renewal, and hope for a fertile union. Their craftsmanship and patterns often reflected the feelings of the giver, regional identity, and wishes for the future; occasionally, short personal messages were inscribed on them. The series of Easter eggs by designer Jaroslava Příhodová appears almost futuristic in its minimalism. The eggs are adorned with metal and conceal entirely unexpected contents, such as human hair.
