在全球快速發展的時代背景中，患病的人口逐漸上升，擁有疾病因子的人數不斷增加且並未停止，但人們總在追求要快速、立即見效的醫療方式，但這樣的方式對人類健康真的是好的嗎？
當人們身心在遭遇不適情況時，分為輕度和重度族群皆會前往醫療機構，迫使健康、亞健康、生病族群混亂、混雜在現代醫療機構中。為此建構出一個新形態的療預所目的是希望輕度的亞健康族群能夠前往島內享有以預防為核心理念的醫療服務，分散、區分出不同族群適合使用的醫療機構。以『預防』機制降低人對現代醫院的需求，期望達到『預防』勝於『治療』的目標。
植間療預所提供的醫療導向以先預防的預防醫療為主，再以治療為輔的自然療法和中醫作為次要機能，有效以循環、友善的方式面對社子島的人和土地，同時讓社子島被人們所記住。
