The Ninth Decade|Oneness and Coexistence

At 80, Venerable Master decided to withdraw himself from worldly activities, hoping to become an itinerant monk who would focus on writing and reading. However, his following 10 years were not ordinary at all. He was invited to meet Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican;rebuilt his ancestral temple, Dajue Temple in Yixing China. Close to completion of the Buddha Museum, Venerable Master visited the construction site frequently. The Museum was subsequently inaugurated in 2011. 2006 Received invitation to an interfaith dialogue with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican. 2008 Dedicated the royalties of his books to founding the Public Education Trust Fund under his name to reward those who have made great contributions to culture, education and news media. 2010 Received the first Lifetime Achievement Award of “People of Chinese Culture”. 2010 May The first Buddhist monastic to have exhibited calligraphy in the National Art Museum of China, Beijing. 2011 August Initiated the “Love and Peace Prayer Ceremony” co-hosted by 12 religious leaders. 2011 December The Buddha Museum was officially opened.
