Venerable Master is an advocate of respect and understanding between Eastern and Western religions. At 71, he was invited to the Vatican City (Holy See) for the Inter-religious Dialogue of the Century with Pope John Paul II. During his 70s, he hosted the Buddha's Tooth Relic Tour in 1998, and Buddha's Finger Relic Tour in 2002. At 77, Zu Lai Temple was inaugurated in Brazil, where the "Sons of Zu Lai Education Program" was founded to help children in poverty receive education.

Beautiful Life Television Station was launched.
Venerable Master officiated the International Triple Platform Full Ordination Ceremony in Bodh Gaya, India, for the first time. Reinstated the Bhiksuni Ordination system, which had been lost for thousands of years in Indian Buddhism.

Led a group of delegates to escort Buddha's tooth relic from Thailand to Taiwan.

Led the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Hymn Choir on a tour in Europe.
The Choir performed in Royal Opera House in London, U.K. and Berliner Philharmonie in Berlin, Germany, setting the record for Chinese Buddhist music to showcase in Western palaces of art.
Received 2nd National Civic Service Award from the President.

The Merit Times published its first issue, which was the first daily paper founded by a Buddhist organization.
2002
Welcomed Famen Temple Buddha's finger relic to Taiwan, turning a new page for Cross-Strait Exchange in Buddhism.
2003
Zu Lai Temple was inaugurated in Brazil and became the largest temple in South America.
2005
Received the third President's Award "Bodhi Award of Culture."
The Main Shrine of Nan Hua Temple in South Africa was inaugurated, starting the era of Chinese Buddhism outreach in Africa.
