This piece of Cochin ceramics artwork shows the gesture that Buddha Manjushri rides on the sitting lion. The main skills are showing the curly hair of the lion, by hand-kneading the soil ball, straightening it and drawing lines on the side of the thin soil strip with a rake tool, and finally rolling it and pasting it on the lion's body. The lion's head has round eyes, and its face resembles Ye Wang's typical lion-shaped style. The tail is decorated with curling techniques and a threaded patch. Manjushri Bodhisattva wears blue hood, yellow robe and green trousers. He holds a jade in his right hand and a scripture in his left hand. The Buddha statue is solemn and quiet, expressing contemplative wisdom.
