Camphor Wood, Cypress
L23 × W45 × H52 / Wooden base: ≈ 25 × 50 × 25
Monkey King as the subject of this artwork abandoned the restraints of traditional god shapes and strengthening body proportions. He is in a sitting posture, wears a crown on his head, wears formal robes, and sits with one foot raised; the main body is made of camphor wood, which facilitates the expression of transverse fibers. The work's knife marks are precise, delicate, and steady, showing the true skill of using the knife.
