新社芳研所 - Fragrance

台中市新社區,每年舉辦花海節,是中部知名後花園。海拔400至1000公尺,層層疊疊的河階地型,日夜溫差大,讓新社種植產業興盛。 走進橘子園裡跟生產者互動我們發現,農民會將小橘子摘下,大顆橘子獲得更多養分才好販售,摘下的與掉下來的橘子,只能丟棄。這不只是橘子,也是新社很多產業共同的問題。 「新社芳研所」整合十幾家小農,將賣相不好的花卉、枇杷、橘子、葡萄、香草等等,運用調香方式,讓產業以香氣串連,用香味介紹生產職人,由職人客製化新社香氣,發展出在地循環永續的調香品牌。 想藉由香味將抽象記憶留存下來,無論是來到新社想帶走香味的旅客、或喜歡有故事又不會與別人重複香味的香水使用者,都可以對新社有全新的印象及感受,同時促進作物發展不被浪費,增加當地人的土地認同感。 - Being famous as the backyard of central Taiwan, Xinshe District, Taichung City. The location at elevation of 400 to 1000 meters above sea level, the lumpy river terraces and the wide temperature range within a day prospered the agriculture in Xinshe. After entering the farm and interacting with the producers, we found that they plucked off the small ones since the bigger ones were more nutritious and salable. Those unsalable could only be discarded. Additionally, other industries in Xinshe were also facing the same dilemma. Integrating several petty farmers, Fragrance linked the scents and industries by transforming unsalable flowers and fruits into perfume. We wanted to introduce the craftsmen by fragrances. Through customizing the fragrance of Xinshe, we developed a local and sustainable perfume brand.
