Can sculpture be free from the restrictions of traditional techniques and materials, allowing for different interpretations and perspectives? The "VACLAB Soft Sculpture Experimental Project" seeks to redefine the concept of sculpture by exploring the "relationship between the sculptor and the sculpted object." Through simple scientific principles and sustainable thinking, we aim to create a new sculpture material—"vacuum sculpture material." By controlling the air pressure in a sealed bag, the external pressure compresses the particles inside, causing the object to shrink and harden. This material has plasticity, stability, and repeatable sculptural characteristics, allowing for free and flexible sculpture shapes. The natural shrinkage of materials creates aesthetic wrinkles.
