Bamboos

Chiang Ching- Jung

In 1962, when Jiang Ching-Jung was teaching at the Meishan Junior High School in Chiayi, he met a fellow teacher, Chien Mao-Hsing, and the two became close friends. Jiang encouraged him with the hidden meaning of "ink bamboo" and inscribed it with " If there is injustice in the mind, try to express it with a few bamboo branches. "This painting depicts two bamboos with a strong momentum and sturdy leaves, while the leaves are painted with shades of ink to express the changes in distance and light, making this painting very lively.
