This four-panel work is written in running script and features the "Song of Stone Dialect" by Han Yu, a great writer of the Tang Dynasty, who wrote about the stone dialect, which were inscribed in stone during the Qin Dynasty. Han Yu felt that the stone dialect was not taken seriously by the authorities, so he began by recounting the history of the stone dialect and ended by calling for their preservation in the imperial academy, which is a marvelous piece of writing of the ancient times with its profound and sincere words.With his characteristic sensitivity as a literary historian, Han Yu saw its significance to the study of ancient literature and history and urged the government to pay attention to it.
