The environment is unable to naturally decompose plastic at the rate humans are dispensing which inevitably causes global environmental pollution. The waste hierarchy consists of reduce, reuse, recycle with the goal to cut down the waste we put into the environment. Through experimentation we were able to repurpose abandoned gashapon shells into colorful pieces of art by fusing it with pressure and heat. Furthermore, the shape of the lamps are inspired by the look of a butterfly dancing in the air after metamorphosis, resembling the transformation and everlasting art that it is.
