In 2005, during a time without income or projects, Chen Hung-Yao envisioned a wingless fly pilot flying a plane around the world. He aimed to establish his own brand, “Airman Studio,” centered on this character, “Airman.” He left behind well-done conceptual sketches, along with numerous merchandise designs. In 2024, Huang Yu-Shih, part of the former Preparatory Office of the National Taiwan Museum of Comics, saw Airman while cataloging Chen’s works. She then commissioned Microdo Ltd., operated by her elder sister Huang Yu-Zen, to hire model artist Sayo for detailed 3D modeling of Airman, bringing this character to life and fulfilling Chen’s dream.
