WEDDING DRESS

Design: Viktoria Eusebio, Higher Vocational School of Textile Crafts in Prague Craftwork & Consultation: Viktoria Eusebio

Material: 100% cotton canvas Technique: Bobbin lace, traditional sewing & folk costume making While creating the wedding dress, I used textile waste materials. My inspiration was the vulture — an animal that lives on the leftovers of others. The dress also refers to the vulture formally: the lace on the collar depicts the delicate feathers that this bird has around its bare neck. The bride’s crown is also made from left over materials, stuffed with scraps from old projects. Attached to the crown are the tops of lighters, which jingle softly when the head moves. Through its colors, the dress refers to my love of punk and to the fact that I never wanted to get married in white.
