The Spiritual Cultivation System
The Fo Guang Shan Cultivation Center was constructed because
during Venerable Master Hsing Yun's decades of Dharma propagation,
monastics and devotees did not have a multi-functional place to practice. Due to modern day society's value of extravagant life, many people to become lost, depressed, or corrupted. Therefore the cultivation center was especially built long term regular retreats such meditation retreat, Amitabha chanting retreats, and sutras transcription retreats. It is a center for monastics and lay practitioners to enhance their spiritual cultivation, as well as a place to improve moral values and purify people's minds, allowing Buddhism to contribute to a better world, country, and society. The Fo Guang Shan Spiritual Cultivation System includes a Meditation Hall, a Sutra Calligraphy Hall, an Amitabha Chanting Hall, pilgrimage activities, and so on.
