Hsiao-Yi Yu is an organist and cross-disciplinary creative artist. In 2025 she received the InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA) – Best Instrumentalist and the Global Music Awards (GMA) – Silver Medal: Best Instrumentalist (Solo Organ); in 2024 she won the Grand Prix at the Letohrad International Organ Festival. Her cross-disciplinary production Inspiring Formosa: From Mirage to Mirror – Organ Concert of Hsiao-Yi Yu premiered in 2024 to wide international acclaim and went on to win six awards across the 2025 GMA and ICMA, highlighting her dual strengths in performance and cross-media exploration. She is the founder of the Formosa International Organ Festival and a doctoral candidate in musical arts at the Poznań Academy of Music (Poland).
Since 2018, Yu has been invited to international organ festivals with appearances in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Vienna, France, Belgium, and San José. In 2024, the Dęblin International Organ Festival praised “her passion for music, love for the organ, and superb technique—clearly audible throughout the concert,” while the Puławy International Music Festival called her “an artist who truly creates the allure of sound.”
Yu has released three albums, winning the Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music – Best Religious Album and receiving a nomination for Best Performance; her fourth album is scheduled for late 2025.
Beyond performance, Yu explores cross-disciplinary innovation—collaborating in 2025 with the Petit Paris fragrance brand on multisensory projects that blend organ art with scent, and advancing tech-art experiments that fuse the organ’s sound with multimedia and digital technologies, opening new pathways for classical music in contemporary culture and creative industries.
