A revered form in traditional furniture, the drum stool is reimagined here through the integration of parametric design and 3D printing, referencing a classical silhouette while reviving the fading vocabulary of ceramic craftsmanship. The work explores five material expressions through digital surface modulation, each channeling a tactile memory from Taiwan's ceramic legacy. The surface textures evoke five distinct material languages: the chiseled planes of ceramic carving, the woven arcs of bentwood, the sharp solidity of metal, the fluid curves of dyed textiles, and the stratified structure of stone. These elements converge in a sculptural whole, forming a material dialogue between heritage and reinvention—where traditional craft values are translated through the lens of new technology and contemporary form.
