The 4th Decade|Happily Ever After

At 31, the Venerable Master was recruited as an editor for the "Awakening the World" Periodical and other magazines. Taking on several jobs gave him a very hectic schedule and increased his need to travel frequently. Atage 33, he initiated floats to celebrate Buddha's Birthday, attracting overwhelming responses from the public. At 38, Shou Shan Temple was completed, followed by that of Shou Shan Buddhist College the next year. With a passion for Buddhist education, Venerable Master decided to settle in Kaohsiung with the completion of these undertakings, and began to take the development of Humanistic Buddhism even further. March, 1956 Venerable Master Hsing Yun hosted Kaohsiung Buddhist Hall’s first 7-day Amitabha-recitation Retreat. June, 1963 Venerable Master Hsing Yun participated in the R.O.C. Buddhist Delegation.Venerable Master embarked on his international Dharma propagation journey by his first visits to Thailand, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Japan and Hong Kong. May, 1964 Buddha’s Birthday floats and costume parade were held in Kaohsiung to celebrate Buddha's Birthday. November, 1964 Inauguration Ceremony of Shou Shan Temple. March, 1965 The First Commencement of Semester Ceremony of Shou Shan Buddhist College.
