The designs feature semi-abstract motifs representing ancestral spirits and linked cups, symbolizing the legends of the origins of Paiwan indigenous peoples and their way of life. In creation, the work takes shape by slip casting. Calcined bauxite is mixed into the slip used for casting, which enhances stability during firing and prevents deforming, whereby bringing about a unique granular texture that adds to the visual appeal, lending the piece an elegant, antique charm.
