The initial design was a dining set consisting of one table and six chairs. Rattan was chosen as the primary material for the seats, and the rattan canes and Makino bamboo were heat-bent to render an elegant, extra-high-back design, whereby making the armchairs’ 3D curves appear remarkably smooth and elegant. For the backrest, slender Makino bamboo was chosen, which further signifies the irreplaceable quality of natural materials.
