This work originated from the “Lukang Town Caoyuanli Embroidery Ten-Year Apprenticeship Program,” which the artist has promoted since 2002. It first began with a small number of stitches coupled with fabric cutouts to create the “Heart-to-Heart” pattern. Years later, in a further sequence of experimentations with approaches such as “single stitches in various orders”, “modular design” and “playful designs”, it developed as the “Embroidered Cookies” series. The way of patchwork showcases a rich variety of materials and extensive combinations of stitches, resulting in a unique visual composition and artistic quality.
