傅斯年圖書館第一棟興建於1958年，設計者為基泰工程司，早期做書庫使用，現有新增展示空間。第二棟則興建於1978年，由王大閎操刀，全棟仍作為藏書使用。兩棟建築各自獨立、量體相當，第一棟與第二棟在地面層以小庭院連接，地下室則以連通道相接。。
建築表情上，不同王大閎院內其他多以紅磚為表情之作品，傅斯年圖書館第二棟以混凝土方式來回應，試圖在材質與質感上，與第一棟形成視覺上的連續。外觀以深色與淺色洗石子相間勾勒建築邊緣與立面分割，建築四個轉角處使用倒角手法，以柔化建築稜角。建築開設直長型窗戶，頂層窗戶外緣有凸出的ㄇ形雨遮，均為王大閎經典手法。
Building 1 of the Fu Ssu-nien Library, built in 1958, was designed by Kwan, Chu and Yang Architects. It originally served as book storage and now includes new exhibition space. Building 2, built in 1978, was designed by Da-Hong Wang. The entire second building still functions as storage for books. The two buildings are independent and equivalent in scale, with the first building's ground floor connected to the second building's basement.
Unlike Wang's other campus works, which typically feature red brick expression, Fu Ssu-nien Library Building 2 uses concrete to create visual continuity with the first building. The exterior features alternating dark and light washed stone outlining building edges and facade divisions. The four corners feature chamfered designs to soften architectural edges. The building has long, vertical windows, with protruding U-shaped rain canopies on the top floor windows—classic features of Wang’s designs.
