Kintsugi Vase

Yang Zhi-hong, Su Jou-Chia

- The mist far above from mountain, a gold thunderbolt shattered the porcelain, and the heavy blue rain pouring down from sky, dyed on the wolrd of whiteness . "I'm all pure, but wish to be dyed. Though i'm shattered, but the crack is all my." This work combines traditional "blue and white porcelain" with modern "kintsugi" techniques to arouse people's attention to tradition while conveying the importance of sustainable development in modern society. It also conveys a profound message: Only by enduring brokenness can our lives be transformed into richer, more complete experiences. Like the objects Kintsugi restored, they have greater meaning and beauty than their original forms.
