每個國家都會圍繞著宗教信仰發展出獨特的文化，當然台灣也不例外，我們的主⾓官將⾸起源於新北市新莊的傳統本⼟⺠宿陣頭，為了能夠讓⼩朋友能夠認識並了解這文化，於是我們⽤繪本的形式，並把故事時間點放在⿁⽉，因為官將⾸的職責就是懲罰惡⿁，透過農曆七⽉讓⼩朋友認識官將⾸，順便學習⿁⽉的禁忌與知識。每到農曆七⽉當⿁⾨開的時候，會有⼤量的⿁湧入⼈間，⽽這時候就需要我們官將⾸來幫忙維護秩 序。官將⾸原名八將⾸，象徵陰間的刑警，最早起源於新莊地藏庵，最初只有增損將軍兩 位。據傳說，增損將軍曾是邪惡妖魔，後來被地藏王菩薩降伏，成為祂的護法將軍。官將⾸的形象呈現為頭戴⼆郎盔，⾯部裝飾有假眉、⻑鬢和獠牙，展現其凶惡之貌。信眾會為官將⾸畫上臉譜，以展現不同的⾓⾊。我們將畫風變得可愛讓孩童不會對⿁感到害怕，並希望繪本可以讓⼩朋友更了解台灣本⼟的⺠俗文化，並了解藝陣團體。
