資訊科學研究所大樓 新館Institute of Information Science New Building

1985年興建的資訊科學研究所大樓舊館，建築師為王大閎，主入口設置於北側，空間沿東西向走廊配置於南北兩側。1995年資訊所興建新館，陳勝彥則將新館主入口轉向設置在四分溪畔，並以一挑空的公共空間作為新舊棟之間的連接。
在量體的處理上，為因應實用的需求，新館比舊館高出4層，也提供了更多的研究空間承載量能。
新館從七樓開始透過逐步層層退縮，銜接舊館四層的量體，成為一種附屬、背靠的穩定感。後棟以拉開及凹凸來創造立面表情，立面色彩呼應前棟創造和諧感，並透過小尺度幾何形實體化，立面採用網格磚面、水平金屬板條，花台植栽點綴期間。
本案獲頒第十九屆建築師雜誌獎（1997）。

The original Institute of Information Science building, constructed in 1985 and designed by Wang Dahong, had its main entrance on the north side, with spaces arranged along an east–west corridor on both the north and south sides. In 1995, the new building, designed by Chen Sheng-Yen, reoriented the main entrance toward Sifen Creek and introduced a double-height public space to connect the old and new wings.
To meet practical needs, the new building rises four floors higher than the original, providing additional research capacity. Starting from the seventh floor, the new structure gradually steps back to align with the four-story mass of the old building, creating a sense of support and stability. The rear wing uses projections and recesses to animate the façade, with colors harmonizing with the front wing. Small-scale geometric forms are used to articulate the façade, which features a grid of brickwork, horizontal metal panels, and planted flower boxes for added visual interest.
This project was awarded the 19th Architect Magazine Award in 1997.
