Design, like breathing, exists naturally. Breathing is an unconscious yet continuous act—unseen, yet undeniably real. Like breathing, design has long been embedded in our daily lives, subtly shaping the way we perceive and experience the world. Through the cutting and stretching of paper, a once static surface begins to generate rhythm and transformation, creating movements of contraction and expansion that resemble the act of breathing. In doing so, the material gains a sense of vitality and fluidity. Using paper as the most fundamental material, this design begins with a single cutting technique that introduces flexibility and structure into a flat surface, allowing it to extend, transform, and evolve. By removing imagery and excessive decoration, the structure itself becomes the primary visual language, reflecting the design philosophy of “Less is More.” As the paper expands, openings allow air and light to pass through, forming a breathing-like rhythm that transforms design from a purely visual presentation into a perceivable presence. In both color and production, low-saturation tones and minimal processing methods are adopted to reduce resource consumption and respond to the principles of sustainable design—allowing design to return to its essence.
