The First Buddhist Wedding at Lei Yin Temple In his propagation works of Humanistic Buddhism, Venerable Master always placed great emphasis on culture and education. In Humanistic Buddhism, Integrating the Dharma into one's daily life is most valued. Harmonious families that follow the Buddhist practices are highly rated. In 1960, Venerable Master unprecedentedly presided over the Buddhist wedding of artist Lee Chi-mao and Chang Guang-cheng. Not only was it the first Buddhist wedding held at Lel Yin Temple, it was also the first ever Buddhist wedding. Family is a continuation of life; it is also the foundation over which one's mental and physical balances as well as values are developed. It is Venerable Master's hope that those who have built a family and started a career will place good attentions to the purification of his own body and mind. At the same time, loving and caring for each other is the only way to live happily ever after; respect and tolerance are essential when it comes to personal relationships.
