Turning the Life Around: From Gangster's Path to Buddha's Path
Mr. Lin, Advisor of BLIA Men's Fellowship Sub-Chapter
During his younger years, Venerable Master Hsing Yun would conduct the Prison Counseling and Outreach Program, where he conversed with the prisoners and encouraged them to have hope and confidence in life.
Mr. Lin was once convicted and sentenced to prison as a gang leader. While serving his sentence, he had the opportunity to hear Master s teachings, and thereafter his affinity with Buddhism began. Venerable Master Hsing Yun's speech on Humanistic Buddhism enlightened him, and he became fully aware that the reason for anyone to commit a crime is due to Indiscreetness and ignorance, as well as the lack of faith in religion. He realized that this resulted in bad behavior and the diminishment of personal value. Eventually Mr. Lin admitted his wrongdoings bravely and turned over a new leaf. He also vowed to guide his inmates towards Buddhism and lead them to a life full of hope.
