The Life of Master Hsing Yun

Affinity in Buddhism: Liberating Sentient Beings from Suffering Chen Ming Zhi, Former Member of Tainan Municipal Council Chen Ming-Zhi was once in despair and had suicidal thoughts. He chanced upon a Dharma talk by Venerable Master Hsing Yun on the television, pointing out that "There will be a moment when the storm stops, but in this impermanent mirage of a word, we are unable to be at peace and settle our mind. “Tears and Laughter” are originally a single form, the only difference is a change in the mindset. When we complain about the muddy path after the rain, we should look up at the sky and be thankful to its light for shing upon our path." Upon hearing this, as if a timely warning, he picked himself up and started anew. Chen was grateful for Venerable Master Hsing Yun' s enlightenment in his life and donated 6 million dollars in exchange for a piece of calligraphy written by the master, and vowed to be with the Buddha throughout his life.
