Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Choir

Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Choir Ever since Venerable Master Hsing Yun released the first vinyl record of Buddhist music in 1957, he has actively propagated the Dharma through music and organized Buddhist Choir world-wide performance tours. In 1997, Chien Chih-chung and Venerable Master Hsing Yun, with the input of Fo Guang Shan Venerables, established the “Oracles Co. Ltd”(now Voice of Ganges Co. Ltd) to produce and promote quality Buddhist music. In line with Venerable Master's idea of harmony between tradition and modernity a performance combining chanting, dance, and Chinese music was held at Nation Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and the National Concert Hall, propagating the Dharma through music Afterwards, the Buddhist Choir began touring from East to West, stopping at different places of the globe, performing at places such as Beljing's Zhongshan Hall, the Shanghai Grand Theatre, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, New York's Lincoln Center, the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, London's Royal Theatre, the Palais des Congress de Paris, and even at the Sydney Opera House.
