The design cleverly echoes the cosmology in classical Chinese philosophy that “heaven is round and earth is square.” Compasses have been used for “orientation and guidance” in feng shui and geomancy. Now the designer transformed them into a desk clock that “keeps time” in modern life, making them not merely a timekeeping tool but a desktop artwork that seamlessly integrates traditional artisans’ reverence for geography and time into the daily routine of a modern office.
