探媒化合物 - What Made Us?
以數位媒體設計系最切身相關的「媒」為源頭,媒取⾃⾳譯⼜稱Made,而Made本身有製造、製成含義,從我們身為何者、構成條件為何,延伸到我們所作為何、所及之處⼜何在?因而誕⽣了「What Made Us?」的概念,呼應主題名稱的問句,設計⼀隻代表探媒化合物的吉祥物,盼望以這樣的概念引起觀者的好奇⼼,而吉祥物內部為象徵著數媒系三組的腦袋所構成,分別為:理性的左腦是需要運⽤⼤量邏輯的互動組;感性的右腦是以繪圖及劇情為重的動畫組;平衡的小腦則是整合各項內容使得設計更加完整的媒體組,經過⼀連串觀賞的體驗,漸漸了解本科系,這樣的過程就好⽐替吉祥物照了X光,⼀步步挖掘我們的潛⼒,也讓觀者感受到雲科數媒包含動畫、互動、媒體的強⼤整合能⼒。此外也期望透過整體視覺設計、展覽規劃、社群⾏銷及數位媒體設計系之特⾊與專⻑,協助參與本屆畢業製作之同學得已成功且順利地將成果展出,使業界、學界等群眾得已看⾒數位媒體設計系深不可測之創新與創意軟實⼒。
Taking the most relevant term ‘‘media’’ in digital media design as the source, the term ‘‘made’’ was derived from the sound translation in Chinese, which itself implies the meaning of manufacture and creation. From our identity and composition to what we do and where we reach, the concept of "What Made Us?" was born. To reflect the theme of "What Made Us?", a mascot representing the combination of media was designed, in the hope of arousing viewers' curiosity. The mascot’s interior is composed by three groups in the Department of Digital Media: the interactive group that requires many logics and reasoning in the left brain, the artistic and narrative group focusing on graphics and storytelling in the right brain, and the balanced cerebellum that integrates all the contents to make the design more complete in the middle. Over a series of viewing, viewer can gradually understand our department, which is like taking an X-ray of the mascot, exploring our potential step by step. At the same time, viewers can also experience the strong integration ability of animation, interaction, and media in YunTech's digital media. In addition, we are looking forward to using the overall visual design, exhibition planning, social media marketing, and the specialty and expertise of the digital media design department to assist our classmates in successfully and smoothly displaying their graduation works in this exhibition. It will enable to make the industry, academia, and other audiences to see the immeasurable innovative and creative soft power of the digital media design department.
