Chang,Chiao-Ning, Yeh,Yun-Qi

- Research reports show that between 2007 and 2011, an average of approximately 130000 metric tons of fruit and vegetable residues were generated annually, of which only 4.4% were used for composting, while the rest were treated by incineration or burial. Incineration or burial can cause resource waste and environmental burden so we will reuse these resources. Taiwan is rich in citrus fruits in winter, and their skins contain a large amount of cellulose and pectin, which can easily be molded; Pectin can increase the fertility of the soil. By utilizing these characteristics, the citrus peel can be made into a small planter for planting, making the user more proficient and easier to grow. Citrus peel is recycled into small plant seedlings for potted cultivation. After the plant grows, the flower pot can be made into the soil and decomposed into nutrients for plant growth. Citrus peel flower pots are prone to decomposition in the soil and can provide plant nutrients, cycling back to nature. Peel uses the characteristics of citrus peel to produce it in a simple processing method. The peel is softened by heating and cooking, pressed into a mud-like shape, placed in a mold, and dried to create a small flower pot for planting seedlings. After the plants grow up, they are decomposed in the soil, becoming nutrients for the plants and returning to nature. If we can collaborate and connect with citrus processing factories in the future, collect a large number of remaining fruit peels, and recycle and reproduce them in large quantities, the fruit-peeled flower pots can replace the existing plastic seedling pots used in agriculture, effectively reducing the use of plastic seedling pots.
