紅包組系列 Red Envelope Series

臍加厝手路金工 Innie + Outie Metal Art Studio

「在這個資訊快速流通的時代,一切似乎唾手可得,但也因為這樣,傳統工藝需要專注與深耕,顯得更為難得。」 "In today’s fast-paced world, everything feels just a click away. But because of that, traditional crafts that need real focus and careful work have become even rarer." Innie + Outie Metal Art Studio’s creations combine expert metalworking with a deep connection to local culture and emotions. Wang Yu-Lin and Chou Chi-En capture Taiwan’s unique stories and life experiences in their work, honoring local sentiments. Their pieces are not just functional but also cultural and emotional symbols, elevating everyday objects to works of art. A standout example is their Red Envelope Series, which goes beyond traditional use during festivals to carry significant cultural meanings for occasions like weddings and childbirth and travel. By adding metal embellishments, Innie + Outie transforms these common items into artistic creations that blend traditional significance with everyday appeal. Innie + Outie Metal Art Studio was co-founded by Wang Yu-Llin and Chou Chi-En in 2014. The studio's name, 'Qijia,' originates from the Taiwanese dialect pronunciation of 'starting a home,' symbolizing their dream of building a craft legacy step by step. Though the two founders have distinct specialties and creative styles, they share a common vision—to seamlessly integrate traditional metalworking techniques with modern design, offering a unique interpretation of beauty in everyday life. The studio's 'Miniature Tools' series is particularly impressive. These tiny yet meticulously crafted tools—such as scissors, paint palettes, and pour-over coffee kettles—undergo intricate metalworking processes, resulting in exquisitely detailed, collectible art pieces. Through their work, they redefine metalworking not only as a traditional craft but also as a medium for storytelling and emotional expression. Each year, their 'Red Envelope Series' combines metalworking techniques with the design of traditional red envelopes, creating pieces that embody both festive charm and contemporary style. This series introduces a wider audience to the boundless possibilities of metal art, making it both culturally rich and trendsetting.
