- The proposal aims to utilize Chiayi's distinctive "carving between the fences," which holds historical significance as a relic from the Japanese occupation period that symbolizes the deep bond between Chiayi and "wood capital", to revitalize the local community. Through innovative redesign, this proposal seeks to reintegrate the "carving between the fences" into people's lives, recognizing it as a crucial means for the revival of ""wood capital"." To return the "Sculpture Between Columns" to the modern market, this proposal emphasizes the importance of subject selection and visual corrections. The proposal suggests classifying the units on the carvings between the bars, unifying their visual effect, and integrating elements of Taiwan and Chiayi into carving styles to reduce the Japanese influence and deepen the bond between the "carvings between the bars" and local culture. The proposal recommends disassembling and arranging the elements into modules, which can be combined with a geometric frame for mass production. This approach reduces the visual weight of the carvings and enhances their visual impact. Moreover, this proposal incorporates the "incense way," which promotes physical and mental well-being, to enrich the visual effect of the carvings. The proposal suggests that the incense process can serve as a visual enjoyment and interactive experience, providing a moment of purification in a busy generation. By prioritizing appearance and shape and reintegrating historical and cultural connotations into modern life, this proposal aims to meet the needs of contemporary society and imprint the image of Chiayi's "wood capital" in people's hearts.
