轉迴時間 - Turnaround Time

In order to see what’s happening, you have to go back twice as far as you intend to jump forward. That is the rule. --Bruce Sterling (American science fiction author who define the cyberpunk genre with William Gibson) Turnaround Time是用於機械工程和資訊工程中的專有名詞，係指一項任務從被處理器承接到完成的反應時間，或指飛機降落後至下一次起飛前的整備時間。如果能夠說明一項工作的轉迴時間，代表其目標已經清晰只待執行，是一個充滿計畫性和野心的名詞；然而，一旦脫離了上下文，Turnaround Time便很容易被直譯成時空倒轉，這樣的解讀立刻替名詞覆上一層對當前的迷惘和懊悔。 2020 今年不是重來的一年，而是整備的一年。疫情猝不及防的吆喝世界停止，無法跳過的當下終於成為所有人共同捱過的今日；世界不會因為疫情重新來過，然而突來的空白卻很容易使現實淡忘昨日在今天的影響，讓扭轉時間的幻想趁虛而入，因此必須更謹慎爬梳累積到今日的脈絡，緊抓著高速運轉的齒輪難得停頓的片刻，看清楚當下，計劃下一步。 turn(v.) time around? 你有想要回到過去的瞬間嗎？可惜的是至少在我們可知的範圍內，介入時間的流逝始終僅能是一種幻想，而我們只有現在。疫情戳破許多朦朧的泡泡，突然人類好像不再先進和偉大了，我們被困在地上，被困在自己雙腳站著的土地上，危機和謠言一起蔓延、支配了坐以待斃的我們。但是也有很多人繼續吹泡泡，既然無法倒轉時間，他們就妄想著跳過當下，夢遊在未來的火星上。人們在對逝去時間的懊悔和未來的盼望中間載浮載沉，站在地上似乎變成一件極為艱困的任務。疫情強迫我們離開一種麻木的生存，有些僵直的規則被新的現實捨棄，也揭開了新的機會。當過去的日常不再，該如何重新定義生活模式？ 特展主題訂為Turnaround Time（轉迴時間），想傳達對於當前時代的解讀：雖然疫情限制人類不能隨意投擲幻想，但也同時帶來一段終於能直面困境的時間。另一方面也說明，對於我們而言畢業設計是學習歷程中一段面對自我懷疑與掙扎的整備時間，同時期望自身透過中原建築慣有對在地歷史脈絡的執著，在特殊的時空背景下能藉由設計打開更多接近建築的視角。
