Blooming｜Buddha Land in the Human World– The Founding of Fo Guang Shan
Located at Shou Shan Temple, Shou Shan Buddhist College implemented the idea of "Temple School". Though 5 stories high on a land of mere 100 square feet, the Venerable Master soon started to find another piece of land for expansion as the number of students continued to increase. Therefore, the very first building on Fo Guang Shan was actually not the Main Shrine but the Eastern Buddhist College campus—the predecessor of Tsung-Lin University.
In his mind, education is the basis for everything. The Buddhist College is the starting point for all the FGS monastics who are now spread across the world, it is the cradle of Sangha education.
