The design of the “Book Chair” draws inspiration from the “bamboo slips” used for note-keeping during the Western Zhou and Spring and Autumn periods. The bamboo slips could be bound into books and stored as scrolls; when bamboo strips are arranged in a circular pattern, they very much resemble those ancient bamboo slips. The flexibility of the chair’s bamboo rings provides the sitter with bounce and comfort. This chair is designed to be stackable.
