Departing from my customary method of shaping a solid form and then hollowing it out, I instead adopted the coiling technique, building a hollow ceramic form layer by layer with clay coils, while incorporating a new glazing method. By rethinking both form and color, I transformed creative uncertainty into an opportunity for a breakthrough. Working the clay allowed me to break free from familiar habits and gradually regain a sense of calm.
