Dimensions: 60 × 150 cm
Materials: Banana fiber, cotton, synthetic fibers
The process of gathering and preparing banana fiber inspired a concept of “deconstructing” the banana tree. Taking lines as its central theme, the design draws on the tree’s contours, colors, and layers, paying tribute to traditional weaving through different materials and techniques. The banana-fiber suit draws on traditional Kavalan clothing and the concept of the “primal body,” transforming traditional craft into a three-dimensional waistband reminiscent of abdominal muscles. In this way, the banana tree moves from plant to fiber to clothing, returning once more to the body.
