The Poet

Pu Tien-Sheng

The previous version of this work was originally exhibited in the “13th Asakura Sculpture School Exhibition” in 1939 (Showa 14). The original title of the work was The Great Writer Lu Xun, but it has been lost. Another statue was remade in 1947 and was put in the “2nd Provincial Art Exhibition.” The title was then renamed to The Poet under the repression of the White Terror. A caring expression for the world can be seen from the sculpture, whose eyes are staring into a far distance. The model of The Poet was Chen Chung-Kuang, the son of Chen Cheng-Po. Year : 1947 Size : 72x38x28cm Media : Bronze
