" kāu-uē" is commonly known as "talking a lot" in Taiwanese dialect. We often find many elderly people talking a lot under the trees in the park or at gatherings. It may not seem special at the moment, but recalling such behavior may give the elders what they need most. In the past, elderly academy focused on activities. Although various courses were provided, the space became an empty shell. In the future Aging Society, how will these spaces help the elder? By analyzing the change of people's pattern from “live and learn” to “live and working”, from temporary communication activities to more daily and continuous communication, we understand that what the elderly really need is social belonging and communication. We believe that the future Elderly Academy should focus on the communication between people, so that the space is no longer an empty shell, but a catalyst to promote the communication. We propose a new communication pattern for the future Elderly Academy, blurry the line of "retirement", and as to connect the life of the elderly.
