「永續年夜飯－人類世的餐桌」特展介紹臺灣多元族群的節慶料理，同時揭開節慶餐桌背後的故事，包含「年菜與他們的產地」、「看不見的年夜飯」、「永續的餐桌」之展示單元，介紹產地到餐桌的過程、海洋塑膠垃圾問題、糧損與廚餘問題、氣候變遷帶來的農業生產挑戰等議題，並藉由臺灣各地不同族群與社群進行永續的餐桌行動，鼓勵大眾重新想像人、節慶餐桌與大自然的關係，以創造永續節慶文化。 New Year’s Eve dinners display some of the most iconic culinary traditions among Taiwan’s annual festivals. Though commonly deemed to be a part of traditional Han culture, present-day New Year’s Eve dinners have evolved from past iterations under changing cultures and food production systems. Thanks to advancements in fishery technologies and cold-chain equipment, everyone now has access to a variety of seafood on New Year’s Eve. Meat, once a rare and cherished ingredient, has now become a common source of food waste after New Year’s dinners. Moreover, the per capita annual consumption of rice, once considered the most important staple food in Taiwan, has dropped to 45 kg, a 50% decrease from thirty years ago, due to government policies, foreign influences, and the continuous decline of rice cultivation. Culture is the product of the long-term interaction between people and their environment. Our New Year's food culture reflects our perceptions of the surroundings and foretells the future of the ecological environment. Since 2016, the National Taiwan Museum has annually held the Sustainable New Year’s Table event, inviting the general public to explore the complex and interdisciplinary issues behind family reunion dinners in Taiwan. We hope this exhibition will inspire the audience to reimagine their New Year’s dinner recipes, creating a more sustainable festival dining culture for our future generations.

臺灣現代知識的啟蒙地國立臺灣博物館是典藏臺灣本土標本物件最精華的博物館，不只見證了臺灣的歷史發展，累積百年兼顧自然與人文的本土臺灣典藏主軸，更呈現出臺灣近代的生活方式及生命物種等面向。臺灣博物館系統包括本館「臺灣自然人文史」、古生物館「臺灣金融機構發展及地球科學」、南門館「臺灣產業史」、鐵道部園區「臺灣現代性」等展示館舍與內涵，提供民眾及國際訪客認識臺灣的自然與文化觀點，帶動建構臺灣文化主體的契機。 Inspiring a Modern Taiwan The National Taiwan Museum (NTM) lays claim to the most exquisite collection of native specimens among museums in the country. Not only has it borne witness to Taiwan’s historical development, having accumulated a 100-year native collection in natural history, anthropology and culture; it is, moreover, a showcase for the many facets of Taiwan, from its native species to life in the modern era. The NTM system comprises the Main Building which showcases Taiwan’s natural history and history of humanity; the Natural History Branch which highlights the development of financial institutions in Taiwan and earth science; the Nanmen Branch which exhibits Taiwan’s Industrial history; the Railway Department Park which focuses on Taiwan’s modernity; and so on. The different branches provide locals and visitors with entry points into the country’s natural and cultural history and foster the construction of Taiwan’s cultural subjectivity.
