Seven sets of hand-sewn uniforms
Dimensions specific to venue
Ready-to-wear industry designer Liu Ying-tsen collaborates with fifth-honor students from the Wenhua Elementary School in contemplating the development and evolution of the school uniform now disappearing from primary school life. Why has the track suit replaced the uniform? What are the connotations of a uniform? What aspects of this spirit does contemporary society wisht to preserve, and what negative elements do they hope to eliminate and stay vigilant against? The artist will guide the students in designing a uniform for their class, wherein they learn about the production process of clothing, as well as ways of conveying their own ideas and concepts.
