Re-ware 混凝漆 Re-ware Fusion Lacquer

Kousancraft

Inspired by the “stacking lacquer” technique, Hsin-You Lai, the third-generation leader of Kousancraft, created "Re-Ware Fusion Lacquer" by mixing lacquer with waste materials, giving lacquer a new meaning and texture. "Re-Ware Fusion Lacquer" utilizes waste paper cups as a base, combining oriental lacquer with powdered waste materials, layered to create a rock-like texture. It is used to make accessories such as earrings and rings. The waste materials include peanut shells from Chiayi, wood chips from furniture factories in Wufeng, oyster shells, and coffee grounds. After using these products for some time, consumers have the option to create new textures or apply makie foils to personalize the object. Alternatively, they can recycle it and create new concrete lacquer.
