反嘴鴴在臺灣為不常見的冬候鳥，牠最顯著的特徵是那長而細且向上彎曲的喙，常在沿海泥灘濕地捕食小魚蝦，我們希望藉由這個作品，能讓更多人認識反嘴鴴並了解牠的習性，更感受到傳統工藝與設計的完美結合。我們特別應用臺南傳統工藝「茄苳入石柳」的工法，將不同的木頭鑲嵌組合，使作品展現獨特的立體感與創意，賦予傳統工藝新生命力。
Terek sandpiper is uncommon winter visitors in Taiwan. Its most striking feature is its long, slender, upward-curving beak, which often hunts small fish and shrimps in coastal mudflats and wetlands. We hope that through this work, more people can get to know the plover and understand its habits, and feel the perfect combination of traditional craftsmanship and design. We specially apply Tainan's traditional craft of " Marquetry" and combine different wood inlays to give the work unique three-dimensionality and creativity, giving new vitality to traditional craftsmanship.
