顏水龍先生深受英國威廉莫里斯「工藝藝術化」理念之影響，極欲改善富鄉土造型的臺灣傳統竹管家具，探討竹材之特性，管狀粗細的運用，易彎曲塑形的纖維靭性，經設計再賦予竹家具新的視覺藝術。竹管彼此間互增強平衡、牢固，構成疏密有緻的產品。
Mr. Yan Shuilong was deeply influenced by the concept of "artistic craftsmanship" of William Morris in England. He was eager to improve traditional Taiwanese bamboo furniture. He explored the characteristics of bamboos, the use of tubes, the flexible fiber that is easy to bend and shape, granting a new artistic view to the bamboo. The bamboo tubes reinforce each other's balance and firmness, forming a dense structure.
