Jo Hsieh was skilled at using the brush to express the textures of various materials. In Untitled, brushstrokes render a fibrous surface, while vibrant blocks of color resemble a patchwork composition. The interplay of hues reflects the musicality often seen in her works and conveys a sense of childlike fun. This work may be viewed alongside her notebooks, particularly in relation to her use of color and totemic forms.
