Consistently drawn to themes of water, sky, and nature, Jo Hsieh presented the forms of sky and water through various means, reflecting on the relationship between nature and the self. In her works, the image of the hand frequently appears alongside objects and environmental elements. In the photo etching Space Form III, a hand is shown reaching outward. This gesture of intervention suggests the creative process, with the hand serving as a symbol of the artist herself. Amid ripples and halos that spread like concentric circles, the hand extends within a confined space, evoking the smallness of the self and its endless dialogue with nature.
