Kavalan people used banana stems and ramie fiber to make clothes, backpacks and other daily necessities in the early Lanyang Plain period. Banana is an annual plant. Excessive new shoots will affect the quality of the trunk, so the excess trunk often needs to be removed. There are only six pieces of usable bark on each tree trunk, and the fragile parts must be removed, torn into silk, dried in the sun, divided into thin threads, and then bundled into thread balls for ground weaving. Kavalan women sit on the ground and weave, weaving banana silk into practical items such as backpacks, floor coverings, etc., showing creativity and cultural value.
