In the 1960s, television gradually became common. First black and white television set also appeared in Heart Village, right in the living room of the Kuo family. Dr. Kuo, Shu-Wui, the head of the family, once served as the director of the psychiatry department of the Beitou Branch of Army 1st General Hospital. During his term, he actively developed the psychiatry department and recruited talents. After the hospital was renamed as the Army 821st General Hospital, he became the dean and was highly respected in the village. His wife, Fu, Ai-Yin, also served as the head nurse at the hospital.
